Mark Slater is a principal at Slater Construction & Development, Inc. He spent his early years working with his father at M.V. Slater, Inc., a construction company. Mark founded Wayne Development in 1975 and developed over 4,000,000 square feet of industrial, commercial and residential properties under the Wayne Development banner. Subsequently, Mark established JEBB Property Management Company and Pacific Maintenance Company to complement his development business. His projects ranged from concrete tilt-ups, to large industrial parks and mixed-use business parks. He has also constructed such properties as retail stores, multi-tenant buildings and high-end residential homes. Slater’s skills span the total range of integrating client requirements into the design, dealing with consultants, administrating contracts, controlling budgets and adhering to schedules. As a result of his technical excellence and consummate leadership of both design and construction teams, he consistently produces properties of exceptional quality with enhanced real estate value.
Some of his notable projects include a nearly 200,000 square foot FedEx Building that was one of the largest FedEx facilities in the United States at the time. This concrete tilt-up building had subterranean parking, a poured-in-place first floor, and approximately 10,000 square feet of office space on the second floor. He also built an approximately 80,000 square foot custom industrial building for California Supply, Inc. and an 11,000 square foot custom Palladino villa in Brentwood Park with interior and exterior Italian plasters and Italian tiles and marble.
Jordan Slater is a principal at Slater Construction & Development, Inc. He attended the University of Denver where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Real Estate and Construction Management. After college, Jordan began his career as a project manager for nationwide production homebuilder, Pulte Homes. At Pulte Homes, he oversaw the development of various residential communities, consisting of over 350 homes.
In 2007, Jordan returned to California, where he worked as an operational field manager for an architectural concrete company. He oversaw notable residential and commercial projects, including a three-story, custom cast-in-place concrete single-family Malibu Beach home designed by a Pritzker prize winning architect. He also oversaw an approximately 14,000 square foot contemporary home in the Pacific Palisades that utilized over 5,000 cubic yards of concrete, with both interior and exterior concrete finishes. This project has been published in leading architectural periodical, Global Architecture, as well as in other architectural publications.
Jordan later joined his father, Mark Slater, to form Slater Construction & Development, Inc., where they have completed numerous residential, commercial, and industrial projects together.
